NHL Recap: New Jersey Devils

Devils made the playoffs even after having a little stint during the season without Brodeur. They played that same style that's been frustrating teams for years. They will be playoff bound again.

One of the older teams at forward. Zach Parise was the leader in points last season with 94 and leader in assists and goals with 45 goals and 49 assists. Travis Zajac lead the forwards in plus minus with a plus 33.

One of the older teams at defense. Leader in points on defense was Paul Martin with 33 points. Mike Mottau is the leader in plus minus for defense with a plus 24.

Martin Brodeur will get the call in net for the devils again. The devils will probably have a hard time keeping up with high scoring teams in the Atlantic Division but they'll find a way into the playoffs with Brodeur.

NHL Recap: Nashville Predators

Since the lockout they Predators made the playoffs 3 consecative years before missing the playoffs last season. The finished 5th in the western conference central division. That's a tough division with the Red Wings, Blues, Blue Jackets, and Blackhawks. Overall the are a middle aged hockey team.

Predators forwards need to get more of a focus on defense. J.P. Dumont was there point leader last year with 65 and assits leader with 49. Jason Arnott was the goal leader with 33 and lead forwards in plus minus also with a plus 2.

Predators defense needs to get a better focus on defense also. Shea Webber lead the defense in points with 53. While Greg Zanon lead the defense in plus minus of plus 8.

Pekka Rinne was the leader in the net last year and with 29 wins. I imagine they are going to look at him to be the leader again this season. If they can focus a little more on defense there is no reason why they aren't a playoff team.

NHL Recap:Montreal Canadiens

They were on a roll out of the gate last season but it came to a stop after the all star break. They where just trying to make it into the playoffs and when they just made it the first team the faced just rolled over them. With some key aditions in the off season they look to not make the same mistake twice.

They are middle age for hockey at forward. Alexei Kovalev was the point leader with 69 points and lead team in goals with 26. Maxim Lapierre lead forwards in plus minus with a plus 9.

They are middle age at defense also. Andrei Markov was the point leader on defense with 64 and the assist leader of team with 52. Josh Gorges lead the defense in plus minus with plus 12.

Carey Price will be looked to in the net again as the number one. Even with the Montreal fans picking on him late in the season and playoffs. The orginization has faith the kid can turn things around and rise up and play better this year. They definitely look like a playoff bound team this season.

By:Shane Murray

NHL Recap: Minnesota Wild

Since the wild started as a franchise they have been a hard hitting defense focused hockey team with some success. They made it to the playoffs 3 times in there 8 year history. That's not too bad for an expansion team.

They are middle age hockey team at forward. Mikko Koivu was the point leader for them last year with 67 and assit leader with 47. Owen Nolan was the goal leader for them with 25. Nolan also lead forwards in plus minus with a +5.

They are middle age hockey team at defense. Marek Zidlicky was there point leader at defense with 42. Marc-Andre Burgeron was plus minus leader on defense with a plus 5.

Niklas Backstorm lead the team in net last year with 37 wins. He'll definitely get the nod in net this year too. As they look to push into the playoffs with a new offesne minded philosphy for the team. Don't think they won't be strong on defense though.

By:Shane Murray

NHL Recap: Los Angeles King

The really has not been much in the way of hockey in post season for Los Angeles since Gretzky left the team more then a decade ago. They have not really been able to even to get the playoffs since 2002 playoffs. They are a team that just really haven't found a player to carry them to the pint of greatness or playoff oportunity. Luckily they are a young team right now which means there is an opportunity in coming years to be playoff team.

At forward they are young. There captain Dustin Brown is only 24 years old. There point leader was Anze Kopitar with 66 points was also assit leader with 39. Goal leader was Alexander Frolov with 32.

At defense they are young too. Kyle Quincey was they leading defensemen in points with 38 points. The best plus minus on the team was Sean O'Donnell with a +2. They are going to need to imporve in the defense area as a team in whole.

Jonathan Quick had 21 wins for them last year. I think that he will be the starting goaltender this year. Hopefully the defense in front of him will help out some more this year. Maybe they won't finish last in the division this season. I doubt they are a playoff ready team at this point.

NHL Recap: Florida Panthers

Florida Panthers really came on strong in the back half the season. They made a great push for the playoffs and fell a little short. If they can carry that momentum into next season they should definitely make the playoffs.

Panthers are young at forward. Stephen Weiss lead the team in points with 61 followed closely by David Booth at 60 points. Weiss lead the team in assists with 47 and Booth lead team in goals at 31. They had 5 forwards with 40+ points that looks good for next season.

Panthers are young a defense. They lost there big defender with Jay Bouwmeester going to Calgary. The defense will have a lot to prove to be as productive as last year losing Bouwmeester might make them be a non-playoff contender.

Panthers will probably be starting Vokoun in net and have Clemmensen be the back up. Expect the Panthers who almost tasted the playoffs for the first time since 2000 to really push for it this season. Let's see what they can do in the tough southeast division with the Capitals and Canes.

NHL Recap: Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton is an interesting team in the west. Since making the Stanely Cup finals in 06 they haven't been back into the playoffs. They always seem to fall short in the back half of the year. They are in the Northwest which is a very competitive division with the Avalanche, Flames, Canucks, and Wild also being in there.

Edmonton is pretty young at forward. Ales Hemsky is there stud up front finishing the season with 66 points, 23 goals and 43 assists. They got some up and comers that should help them along this season.

Edmonton is middle aged at defense. Sheldon Souray is the big point maker on defense and second in points on the team. He had 53 points, 23 goals and 30 assists. They need the defense to just keep playing well had 4 defensemen with 30 or more points.

Edmonton know has Nikolai Khabibulin in net for them this year. I would imagine that would be there starter anyway. So he can help teach the young goalie some of the tricks of the trade. I don't know if they are ready or not for playoffs this season but it's about time. Though with teams like the Wild, Flames, and Canucks they are going to have a tough time making the playoffs in that division.

NHL Recap: Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings seem to be big players in the playoff race and in the presidents trophy competition every year for last decade and a half. They are very good at bringing in a certain kind of talent and being able to lose and older player and bring in younger players from there farm team that can replace him.

Red Wings are middle age for a hockey team at forward. They have some great talent in there forwards with Datsyuk, Draper, Zetterberg, Franzen, and Filppuli to name a few. Datsyuk finish last year with 97 points, 32 goals, and 65 assists and a +34. Which is why he received the Selkie this year again.

Red Wings are middle aged at defense also. They have great defense like Lidstrom, Rafalski, and Ericsson. Rafalski had 59 points last season 10 goals, 49 assists, and +17.

Red Wings are stacked at goalie with Osgood in net. They have made it to the stanely cup finals two years in a row. Falling short in game seven last season is going to leave a bad taste in their mouth especially with it being in Detroit. Look to seem them push into the Stanely Cup finals again.

Whats Wrong With The Fightins?

The Phillies suck right now. There is no other way to say it. One night the pitching sucks, the next the offense sucks, then when the pitching and hitting are clicking, the bullpen sucks, and even sometimes the best defense in the league makes bone headed plays. Even with all this shitty play for the better of 2 or 3 weeks the Phillies find themselves some how by the grace of the baseball gods still a half game up on second place. Think about that, the Phils are ONE for their last ten and still in first place. So if we are going to turn this around we have to get Jimmy Rollins rolling again, it is that simple. The Phils are 28-7 when the little guy scores a run. I also think a legit right handed pitcher couldn't hurt the cause.

By:Billy Donahue

NHL Recap: Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars have kind of fallen in the last few years. You don't see them as much anymore pushing deep into the playoffs. They missed the playoffs last season and it wouldn't surprise me if they did it again this year.

They are medium age team at forward. Mike Ribeiro lead the team in points and assists, 56 assists and 78 points. Loui Eriksson lead the team in +/- and goals, +14 and 36 goals. They need some help in the scoring department and defense needs to be put into there game more.

They are medium age at defense also. They defense was pretty bad last season. They had one player get into the 30 point range on defense and one player in the +10 area. They need some help on defense, they will be shopping around or really working hard on the defense men they already got this off season.

Marty Turco will start in net of course. He is one of the premiere goaltenders in the league so that's not a surprise. They have a lot of work to do to be playoff contenders again, could be some bad years for Dallas ahead.

By: Shane Murray

NHL Recap: Columbus Blue Jackets

Columbus Blue Jackets made the playoffs for the first time in their short history. They got helped out big time by their young goaltender Steve Mason. They might make the playoffs for again next season and that would only be second time in the team's history.

They are a very young team at forward. They have a semi star in Rick Nash and he lead the team in goals, assists, and points overall. He is a good leader for the younger guys coming in and older veterans respect him too.

They are young on defense also. The leader in +/- for them was Jan Hejda who had a +23. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to bring in some veteran leadership into the defense.

Steve Mason will be the starter in net next year. He should be even better next year as long as he works on his weak spots this off season. Columbus looks to be able to get into the playoffs for the next couple years and maybe pushing deep into them also.

By: Shane Murray

Flyers Make Big Move

Philadelphia Flyers and Anaheim Ducks both made a big splash in the first round. Ducks traded there big defense men, Chris Pronger. Flyers gave away some young talent for an older but skilled defense men. Ducks got Luca Sbisa and Joffrey Lupul, and draft picks from the Flyers for Pronger and and a prospect Ryan Dingle. (Lupul and Pronger have been traded for each other twice now.)
This is a big move for the Flyers who where waiting for free agency to talk to Jay Bouwmeester. It will be interesting to see if they Flyers will still be jumping to talk to him or will talk to another Defense men or try to bring in a winger with losing Lupul.
Next year is going to be pretty interesting for the Flyers with new defense men in Chris Pronger and new goalie in Ray Emery. It should be one interesting year in Philly next year.

Tonight all is right wit the world again

Lakers won the NBA finals and that makes sure at least one thing is right in the world. They best team in the League won the championship. I have major respect for Kobe Bryant and the rest of the Lakers. Phil Jackson just made himself have the most championships of any coach.
The Orlando Magic had gave them a hard time. Dwight Howard, Rashard Leiws, Hedo Turkaglu, and rest of Magic had an amazing post season. Starting with beating the Sixers in first round in six games and without Dwight Howard for game six. Then beating the Boston Celtics in game seven. Then beating the Cleveland Cavaliers who sweeped their first two series.
The Lakers had the Jazz in the first round and they went five games with them. They went four with the Rockets. That was with the rockets not having Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady. Then they went six games against the Nuggets.
The Lakers finished what they started this year by bringing the championship back to Los Angeles. I'm glad Kobe finally was able to bring home that trophy without Shaq. So that people stop saying it was so much Shaq then more then Kobe.
By:Shane Murray

NHL Recap: Colorado Avalanche

Colorado Avalanche had a really tough season this year. They finished in the bottom of the Northwest division. They have a lot of changing to do if they want to get back into the playoffs next season.

They where extremely old at forward last year. They aren't going to be next year they have a lot of free agents this season and all of them are old guys. They are going to have all kinds of young guns next year so they might have to have a building year but they'll be back in playoffs soon enough. Ben Guite led team in +/- with +2. Milan Hejduk led team in points at 59 and goals at 27. Ryan Smyth led team in assists at 33.

They where old at defense too. They have some excellent young defensemen coming up though that should help them out. They had a really bad year last year on defense. That should change next season.

The starter for the Avalanche should be Peter Budaj next season. He is a little rough around the edges but he can help them out by being in net. They need everyone to step it up big time next season if they want to make in into the playoffs. Luckily they play in a pretty weak division so that should help them get some wins. It'll be interesting to see what happens next year.

By:Shane Murray

NHL Recap: Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago Blackhawks where one of the big surprises this season. They have a lot of great young talent after getting a couple of high picks past couple seasons. They proved they got a lot of grit to how the pushed the wings in the western conference finals.

They are extremely young at forward. They got some great talent at forward also. Patrick Kane is a rising star along with Jonathan Toews. Jonathan Toews lead the team in goals with 34. Martin Havlat led team in assists and in points at 77 points and 48 assists. They also have Kris Versteeg who was one of the nominees for NHL rookie of the year.

They are extremely young at defense also. They got some veterans on defense to help guide along the younger defensemen. Duncan Keith led the team in +/- at +33. I think that they won't do much about their defense maybe bring in another veteran for leadership.

They are set at goaltender with Christobal Huet. He has proven to be a good starter of the years. I'm only saying that if they lose Nikolai Khabibulin to free agency and have to use Huet as the starter. They are going to be pushing their way around western conference for next few years with all the young talent they have. Next year should be really good for them.

NHL Recap: Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina Hurricanes came on really hard in the back half of the season. They made the it into to the playoff spot in the east. They made a real big push after the trade deadline and they brought back in Eric Cole. He made a huge impact on the team all around. He made their potent offense is even more scary.

They are an old team at forward. Eric Staal led the team with 40 goals. Tuomo Ruutu led the team in +/- at +15. They really need to bring in some young forwards. I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade away some old guys for some young guns.

They are old at the defense too. Ray Whitney team in assists and points at 77 points and 53 assists. They need some to bring in some young defensemen also. They have some talent and have a good core of veterans to teach the young guns.

They are set at goaltender at with Cam Ward. That is a great starter for any team. He already has won one Stanley cup. I think that they are pretty set to make another push for the playoffs and into them. They just need to have some little tweeks and they will be even scarier.

NHL Recap: Calgary Flames

Calgary Flames where an interesting team last season. They made a move that they thought would help them go further into the playoffs. Trading Lombardi for Jokinen and it helped them out in the regular season a bit. Also they had a chance to clinch first place in Northwest division and couldn't capitalize and Vancouver took first place at the end. It just didn't have the impact they where hoping for in the playoffs getting knocked out by Chicago Blackhawks.

Calgary isn't extremely young at forward but not that old either. They have 4 unrestricted free agents in this off season. They biggest names on that list is Michael Cammalleri and Todd Bertuzzi. Jerome Iginla led the team in points at 89. Michael Cammalleri lead the team in goals at 39. Iginla led team in assists also with 54 assists. It will be interesting to see if they Keep Cammalleri or if someone gives him a bigger contract.

Calgary is the same at defense as they are at forward age wise. They have 3 unrestricted free agents coming in the off season. Two really big defensemen for them too in Adrian Aucoin and Jordon Leopold. I definitely see them trying to keep one of these two around for next season if not both.

Calgary has no questions who their net minder is. It's Miikka Kiprusoff who had 45 wins last season. The backup for Calgary is a free agent but I'm sure they can afford to let him go having a goaltender who wins 40 plus games himself. Calgary has the pieces in place to make it the the finals again like they did in the 03-04 season and lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

By:Shane Murray

NHL Recap: Buffalo Sabres

Buffalo Sabres have had some tough seasons the last two seasons. It seems like it all stems from injuries also. This year Ryan Miller went down and they struggled to win games with out him in net. Patrick Lalime had a real rough time of it this season. At the trade deadline the Sabres brought over Mikael Tellqvist. Who helped them win a few games and try to make the playoffs. They fell short again for the second year in a row after having their best season ever just 2 years ago now where the got the president trophy.

Buffalo isn't the youngest or the oldest team around at forward. Derek Roy led the team in points at 70. Thomas Vanek led the team in goals at 40. While Jason Pominville led team in assists at 46. Losing Maxim Afinogenov might hurt them too at offesne. They need some of there young guns to step up next season and produce some points and stops.

Buffalo isn't young at defense. They'll be losing Numminen and Spacek possible to free agency. I doubt they'll sign either of these guys at the ages they are at. Losing those two defensemen though is going to be putting a lot of pressure on lesser known defensemen or younger defensemen. That doesn't usually allow for great success during a season unfortunately.

There is no competition for the net minder job in Buffalo. As long as Ryan Miller is healthy it's his. He is a great goaltender with some suspect defense and no goal support at times. The Sabres will be an interesting team to see what they do to try to make the playoffs next season. They might be one of the few teams willing to make those crazy trades.

NHL Recap: Boston Bruins

Boston Bruins where a surprise team this year that's for sure. They where in first place in the East all season. They where playing really good hockey in beginning and middle half of the year and looked like a contender to get the cup for sure. They end half of the year they faltered a lot and looked sloppy at times.

At forward are strong all around from center to wingers. Krejci and Wheeler had really good years. Also the trade deadline trade for Mark Recchi helped them out a lot when they got into the playoffs and trying to hold on to first place. They will be a good team at forward next year with all their young guys coming back and just losing some old guys, they might even keep one who knows.

At defense they are extremely strong, as strong as they are at forward they are tougher at defense. Zdeno Chara is a amazing defensemen getting nominated for the Norris trophy this season. They are kind of old at defense I wouldn't be surprised if they try to bring up a young guy or bring a young guy in to learn from the veterans.

In net there really isn't a question who will start next season. It will be Tim Thomas for sure. Manny Fernandez will be probably going to another team since he is an UFA. This will allow the Bruins to bring up there young stud goaltender Tuukka Rask. Next season the Bruins will look to push further in the playoffs then last two seasons. It'll be interesting to see how they get prepared for playoffs maybe they'll take it easier in the regular season.

Lebron "The Crybaby"

I'm not going to beat a dead horse, seeing how everyone knows how I feel about showboating, front-running, King of Hype Lebron James. I do want to bring to every one's attention an article I read this morning on ESPN.com (GO HERE).
The cliff note version of this story is, not only is Lebron an over hyped, done-nothing "superstar" but he's also a crybaby and a poor sport. After the game, he immediately headed to the lockers, changed, and got on the team bus.

He didn't congratulate the Magic, and he didn't thank his teammates for trying or for the season. Above all, he didn't talk to the media. Normally he can't get enough of seeing his own face or hearing his own voice. Suddenly, he was invisible.

This is the MVP? This is the face of the NBA? This is "The KING" or "The next MJ" or "The chosen one"? I think we are all witnesses to what a punk-ass this guy really is. He has no problem showing his face when he wins, after every terrible foul call, wide-open dunk, or playoff win against a weak playoff competition. What a jerk-off! He's no different then the show boaters you see at the rec or the Y. He's a head-down to the basket ball-hog, who yells "and one" after every shot. Jordan my ass.

Side-note: If you watched the game last night the refs finally got it right and they didn't call a foul every time the crybaby went to the hole. You see the results when Crybaby is treated like everyone else in the league, a 25 point night. Not bad, but a more realistic show of the crybabies skill.

Thanks

Eddie Jordan Sixers New Coach

Eddie Jordan who got fired from the head coaching spot of the Wizards last season. Last season the Sixers fired their head coach Mo Cheeks and then went to Tony Dileo. Tony DiLeo got them turned around and headed towards the playoffs. Where they faced a tough opponent in Orlando Magic and lost in the first round again. Andre Iguodala and Theo Ratliff called him a weak coach after that series. Let's see how this pans out for the Sixers next season.

Flyers Stars

What do Mike Richards, Simone Gagne, and Daniel Briere have in common? Besides all being forwards, from Canada, and once or now an assistant captain for the Flyers. All of them are having surgery on something this off season.

Mike Richards was the first to go under the knife to have surgery on his shoulder. He had it on his other shoulder already also. He is the captain and the heart and fire of the team.

Daniel Briere was the second to go under the knife and is having his eye problem fixed. He has been hurt a lot last two seasons during the middle/late part of the season. Hopefully this allows him to have a full season with the Flyers next year and add to the Flyers power play.

Simone Gagne is the last one to go under the knife and his having hip surgery. He has had some issues with concussions recently. Though he played real well heading into the back end of the season and in the playoffs particularly. Hopefully he can keep up his intensity after this surgery.

NHL Recap: Atlanta Thrashers

Atlanta Thrashers where starting to look pretty good towards that back part of last year. Unfortunately for the Thrashers it was too little to late. They are a pretty young team though so to have a good finish last year helps them be prepared for next season.

Thrashers forwards are young except for a few pieces but mostly young. Kovalchuk is such a great forward and really is the key offense component for the Thrashers offense. They do have some key pieces that are kind of aging but I expect them to try to fix that before next season.

Thrashers defense is very young. They could use a good veteran defensemen to come in and help teach the young guys. They best defense players +/- was +14(Enstorm) and that's alright but it would be better if it was around +20.

Thrashers in net have some concerns they need to work out. Who will be starting in the next year. I'm gonna say they should give it over to they younger Lehtonen and let Hedberg be the back up. Thrashers will probably end up losing a few players to free agency but that just allows them to bring in the help they need to get into the playoffs again.

Danica Patrick to consider Nascar

Before the start of the Indy 500 last week, Danica Patrick was answering questions of possibly racing in Nascar. Danica said that she would remain open about a possible future in Nascar, and would listen to any offers from Nascar teams. Patrick's contract with Andretti Green Racing is up at the end of the season and it being a contract year for her, interest is buzzing everywhere. Silly Season should be an interesting one this year.

Fightins in need of a few arms.

After a slow start to his season, Brett Myers was starting to come around and fill out the number two starter slot nicely. But after a pain in his hip he was taken out of his last start. He then later had an MRI and the results were not good. Myers could end up needing hip surgery,(seems to be a trend this year.) that could cost Brett the rest of the year. So where does this leave the Fightins? With an already shaky pitching staff the Phils have asked everyone and their mother about pitchers. The list includes: Roy Oswalt, Jake Peavy, Brandon Webb, Roy Halladay, Doug Davis, Erik Bedard, Cliff Lee, Aaron Harang, Brad Penny, Chris Young and Jason Marquis.

Roy Halladay would be the best of the bunch, but i believe he is untouchable, no matter what Metro fans say.

Peavy does not want to play on the east coast, and if you don't want to play for the World Fucking Champions, well we don't want you.

Brandon Webb would seem like a nice pick up, but he is hurt so he cannot help us now.

Erik Bedard would be a nice pick up. I think he wants to play for the Fightins. He was talked about being traded for last year before we picked up BamBam Blanton. Bedard is off to a good start this season, but he has a high risk of injury and is 30 years old. He is also a southpaw. That would create a rotation of 4 leftys.

Cliff Lee is another lefty, but just came off a Cy Young winning season last year and is starting to get into a nice grove after a slow start. Would be a nice addition.

Roy Oswalt is a little old and very pricey, but he is a right handed pitcher. Some say he has lost his edge and needs a change of scenery to get his balls back. Maybe Ed Wade can do us another favor and get us a deal on him. Maybe Brad Lidge could talk him into joining the Fightins.

As far as the other pitchers on the list, I do not think that they are worth trading the farm away for. The Phillies might end up needing two pitchers before everything is said and done.

Sorry Folks.

I know I've been slacking a while. And by a while I mean atleast two months worth of slacking. Well, I won't be slacking any more. The NFL season is upon us soon. Preseason games begin August 9th so for the next 8 weeks I'm going to spend each week previewing one division at a time starting with the NFC more specifically the NFC East with my predictions, and how far I think they will go.

NHL Recap: Anaheim Ducks

Anaheim Ducks did not have they year they where expecting. They where chasing the San Jose Sharks since the beginning of the season. This was their worst season since the lockout ended. They only had 91 points and finished 8th in the western conference. They aren't getting any younger that is part of the Ducks problem for next season. They did have Bobby Ryan who got nominated for rookie of the year.

Their defense is getting old they have some young guys, but their studs like Pronger and Niedermayer are in their mid 30's. Niedermayer might no even be with the team next year. He has been their captain for since 2005 with Pronger taking it for a little in 07 while he was out for most the season.

The Ducks look a great for the future and for next year. They Ducks forwards are young and talented. Getzlaf is one of the assistant captains and is real young. They have the rookie of year nominee Bobby Ryan. Those are just some of the stars in their potent offense.

Another good question is who is going to be the starting goaltender in the net next season. Will it be Jonas Hiller or Jean-Sebastien Giguere. Jonas Hiller lead the Ducks in their playoff march that was cut short by the Detroit Red Wings. It will be interesting to see what the Ducks do in the off season. The Ducks have 6 players who where part of the team this year that are going to be unrestricted free agents next season.

Rick Hendrick was warning Jr for awhile that he might have to lose his crew chief cause of not producing the results Hendrick expected. Let's see who Hendrick places in the spot and see if it does end up helping Jr. Right now anything might help Jr seeing he is 19th in the standings.

Team's futures

I woke up this morning and came up with a good idea. I'm going to start making a blog for each team in the NHL and what they need to do to turn it around next year. How they can improve their team next year and what went wrong this year. I might do one for NFL too, but I might leave that one to Mike. I'll be going in alphabetical order but skipping the two teams in the Stanely Cup Finals(Detroit and Pittsburgh). So I'll start by doing Anaheim tonight.

NHL Semi Finals

Well Detroit is leading Chicago 3 games to 1. Pittsburgh leads Carolina 3 games to nothing. It looks inevitable that we are going to have a rematch from last years NHL finals. Detroit is a much better team then they where a year ago and Pittsburgh though that have made it magically through the Flyers and Capitals aren't nearly as good as last year. Marc Andre Fleury is a better goaltender around this time. I just don't think the team in front of him is as good as last years Penguins. Detroit is just as good as last year if not stronger with Hossa. Osgood has won two cups already and is going for a third. I know that it's still possible for Canes and Hawks to win their series. I just don't for see that happening.

Lebron Hype

Let the Lebron hype continue now to even higher proportions. One of the greatest shots in NBA history? Be serious. The torch passed from Michael? C'mon. A player hit a three-pointer to win the game. It happens every week. Oh wait, it was Lebron. So now we have to make it bigger because he has to be Jordan one day. This makes me sick.
Jordan earned everything. When you watched Michael you just knew he was going to win. When I watch Lebron I just count all the calls that go his way. It really is disgusting. He puts his head down and blasts into everyone between him and the basket. Then regardless of the defensive player positioning or who initiates the contact, the whistle blows and Lebron goes to the line.
I don't completely blame Lebron though. The NBA has become the WWE or whatever wrestling is calling itself now a days. It's simply good for business for the NBA to rig their series and chose their match-ups. The sad thing is that I love basketball, and after nearly every game I feel like the refs determined the outcome of the game. When I say that, I mean by making calls that obviously fall to side of the winning team. Then afterwards on ESPN or any other sports channel we here "that's just the way it is" or "those calls are hard to make."

Case and point: 4th quarter last night. "The King" is chucking up one of his miserable 3 point attempts he is blocked from behind by Howard who has 5, mostly suspect, fouls. At no point does Dwight even graze Lebron, but it's so embarrassing that the ref calls the foul and bye-bye Dwight. THEN! THEN! They review the play to make sure Lebron was behind the line and got all his shots. Now I believe that they can't change a foul call after they review it (stupid) but they should be able to if they can review other close calls.

Lebron... 'Nuff Said.

With Seconds left... Lebron James wins game two for Cleveland. What should this be called, because you know it's going down in history as one of the greatest shots in NBA history. I'm dubbing this shot. The Torch. Finally... the torch has been passed from Michael.

RAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL

The Fightins strike first and take the win in game one of a three game inter-league series against the hated Yankees. The Phils took the win on the bats of Raul Ibanez, Jimmy Rollins, Cooouch Ruiz, and Jayson Werth. Brett Myers also pitched a gem, going eight innings strong giving up three earned runs and striking out five. Chase Utley also added an RBI single. Hopefully this is a confidence booster that gets Myers on track to be a solid number two pitcher that we know he can be. A*Roid chipped in a homer, Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira also went deep. All and all this was one hell of a game by the W.F.C's

Speaking of RAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL

He clubbed a monster homerun tonight, bumping his total to a league leading 16. This guy is amazing, thats all i can say.

Good Bye David Ortiz... Welcome Back BIG PAPI !

What a better place to end a slump than right at home in front of his fans at Fenway. Wednesday night, Big Papi did just that. Ortiz has not hit a home run in his last 149 at bats. Boston's David Ortiz finally hit his first home run of the season in the bottom of the 5th.

The funniest part of the run came when Papi reached his dugout. His teammates all calmly sat down ignoring the fact that he hit his first home run, only to mob him after he sat down, forcing him out for a curtain call.

Philly's Futbol Club Has A Name

Philadelphia has an expansion futbol club, and the name of the brand new club is Philadelphia Union. All and all it is not a bad name selection because it has a very revolutionary ring too it, and any soccer team that is going to wear "Join or Die" on their chest is pretty bad ass. Might even get me into watching this thing called Futbol.

Coyotes Bankruptcy

The former owner of the Phoenix Coyotes, Jerry Mowes, filled for chapter 11 bankruptcy. What does this mean for the rest of the NHL and for the future of the Coyotes organization.

Right now Gary Bettman is in control of the future of the franchise. Though their is one offer on the table to buy the team for 212.5 million. That offer comes from Jim Balsillie, a billionaire from southern Ontario.

This is a problem for the NHL because he wants to relocate the team to southern Ontario. Which has sent all kind of crazy rumors going through that area. He's idea behind relocating is that they can fill the stands in southern Ontario easier.

Which is a true theory Ontario is hockey crazy. The NHL though isn't thinking of what is going to fill the stands now though. They are looking towards expanding the NHL to more consumers. That's why they went out to California and Arizona for.

What would be a good idea is maybe adding to expansion teams into the mix, or relocating the Coyotes to an area that used to have a team but missing one now. They could move the Coyotes to Winnipeg or Quebec. I think those would be good markets for a NHL team that is coming out of bankruptcy and their is no competing NHL team in the market. Also they could fix Phoenix and keep it their and just add and expansion team to each of those cities that would be a good idea also.

Well in the upcoming months will see how this plays out. The NHL is a business and though Bettman can be blamed for a lot of things, he will fix this problem of the Coyotes bankruptcy. After all he did not relocated Pittsburgh, Ottawa, or Buffalo when they filled for bankruptcy.

Hart Memorial Trophy Finalists

Three way race between countrymen Pavel Datsyuk from Detroit, Alexander Ovechkin from Washington, Evegni Malkin from Pittsburgh. These are all very good scores and all have leadership roles in the locker room. Let's take a look at these players and see who is most deserving.

Pavel Datsyuk is one the core parts of the Detroit team that got second highest point total in the West. He had the most points on the team at 97 points and also led the team in assists at 65. He is the only two way threat out of this list of players.

Alexander Ovechkin is the core part of the Washington offense. He had a point total of 110 points and lead league in goals at 56. He is one of the biggest celebrators after a goal in the league. It gets the rest of the team into the game his excited celebrations.

Evegni Malkin is part of the two person core that is Pittsburgh. He had the highest point total in the league at 113 points and lead his team in goals at 35 goals and in assists at 78 assists. When Crosby went down people were worried that Pittsburgh will falter but Malkin carried them himself.

I think that Datsyuk should get it just because he is the only two way player. I could see Malkin or Ovechkin getting it though. Let's see who the NHL gives the award to.

Frank J. Selke Trohpy Finalists

Mike Richards from Philadelphia, Ryan Kesler from Vancouver, and Pavel Datsyuk from Detroit. These are all great picks it's hard to just pick one for the winner. Let's look at the stats of all three players and see if we then know who to pick.

Mike Richards is the captain and heart of the Flyers. He had 30 goals and 50 assists on the season for a total of 80 points. He had a +/- of +22. He also spent the most time on the ice for the Flyers. He also was on almost every penatly kill for the Flyers, so that's a good plus minus.

Ryan Kesler is a third liner for the Canucks. He had 26 goals and 33 assists for a total of 59 points on the season. He had a +/- of +8.He played against all the tough lines in the West and deserves to be on the list.

Pavel Datsyuk is one of the reasons the Red Wings are so scary. 32 goals and 65 assists for a total of 97 points on the season. He had a +/- of +34. He is probably the best two way player right now. He can take a puck away just as fast as he can take the puck and score.

I think that Richards should get it this year, though I can definitely give an argument for Datsyuk. Let's see who the NHL picks.

NHL Playoffs Predictions: Round 2

Well here's my round 2 predictions, let's see if these ones go better then round 1. Though it wasn't really that bad in round 1.

*My Picks in BLOD*
East
Boston vs Carolina
Good match up here between these two teams. Both teams are defense oriented and have good goaltenders in net. This game could easily drag out for 6 or 7 games.

Pittsburgh vs Washington
The NHL's most wanted series I can say that. Ovechkin vs Crosby and Malkin. This should be an explosive series. I expect a lot of points to be scored between these players.
West
Detroit vs Anaheim
Both very good defense teams and both very good on special teams. Anaheim took out San Jose pretty easily by being bigger and tougher going to have a tough time doing that against Detroit.

Vancouver vs Chicago
A very interesting series these teams match up well. Neither team has a big name player besides in the net. Luongo vs Khabibulin and that's a good match up. This is my series to watch if you ask me.

Eagles Draft Picks 2009

For the Eagles and how I feel about the draft picks and the trade from this weekend.

Round 1 - Jeremy Maclin, Mizzou - I never thought that he'd be available so late in the first round, but thanks to Al Davis he was. He is a great pick for the Eagles. He should keep McNabb quiet for this season anyway.

Round 2 - LeSean McCoy, Pitt - Another small running back for the Eagles. I think they where looking for a guy that could split time with Westbrook. He should be able to do it. I was kind of hoping for a bigger running back though for short yardage. Since that was our weak spot last season.

Round 5 - Cornelius Ingram, Florida - A nice sized tight end that could go on the other side of the line in the Eagles two tight ends formations. I don't know how he is at blocking so I think he'll mostly be out for passing plays.

Round 5 - Victor Harris, Virginia Tech - I absolutely love this pick up. He won't be forced to start right away and with all the veteran corners on the Eagles roster. He'll be able to grow under them and learn from them. He reminds me of Lito a bit, maybe a better hitter though.

Round 5 - Fenuki Tupou, Oregon - Eagles got a pick here another tackle that can ride the bench behind the talented Eagles tackles. He should be able to grow and might even get a few plays in this season for running schemes.

Round 6 - Brandon Gibson, Washington State - I think this wasn't a bad pick at all. It could challenge the other wide outs that think they might make the team in the 4th or 5th spot.

Round 7 - Moise Fokou, Maryland - Another draft with late round line backer pick for the Eagles. I'm not surprised especially with how good our young line backing core is. I hope he sees some time on special teams and maybe can even take the weak side line backer spot, since the Eagles haven't really decided who they liked the most their.

Round 7 - Paul Fanaika, Arizona State - He should be able to grow behind the Eagles tackles if he can make the team. The Eagles have a lot of good young guards so it will be tough for him to make the team. He might make the practice squad though and still be able to grow from there.

Trade with Patriots for Ellis Hobbs - I personally don't like this trade at all besides the Eagles only traded two draft picks. I think the Eagles got him so that Jackson and Maclin didn't have to do kick and punt returns. I don't think you'll see him on defense that much, maybe in quarter and dime formations mostly.

Eagles Draft Picks Over The Years

Let's look at how Andy Reid has done drafting in the first round for the last 11 seasons.

1999 - 2nd overall, Donovan McNabb, Syracus - Has been a star in the league for years and continues to shine in the NFL. Even with being one of the most inaccurate passers in the league and losing some of his mobility.

2000 - 6th overall, Corey Simon, Florida State - Was a great asset to the Eagles his first few years in the league, but after constant weight problems and other disputes. Simon and the Eagles parted ways and he became a Colt and now he isn't in the league anymore.

2001 - 25th overall, Freddie Mitchell, UCLA - He never really amounted much in the NFL. Unless you ask any Eagles fan or Packers fan about 4th and 26, he really will never be remembered. The Eagles and Mitchell parted ways a few years back and he is no longer in the league.

2002 - 26th overall, Lito Sheppard, Florida - Was a great corner when he was younger made a few probowls. The Eagles and Sheppard parted ways this offseason. He is now a New York Jet.

2003 - 15th overall, Jerome McDougle, Miami(FL) - He showed a lot of promise his rookie year, but before his sophmore year he was mugged and shot. He recovered from that and before his third season he tore a muscle. The Eagles kept showing faith in him though but last year after other players played better in the preseason they let him go. He is now a free agent, after playing in New York Giants organization last season.

2004 - 16th overall, Shawn Andrews, Arkansas - He is a great offensive linemen. He has already been a probowler and should make more appearances in the probowl. He had a rough season last year with the beginning of the season having bad depression and then later suffer from back spasm during the rest of the season. He should make a comeback this year, especially with his brother on Eagles.

2005 - 31st overall, Mike Patterson, USC - He is an anchor of the defensive line for the Eagles. He always provides good push for the defense up front. Never made the probowl though I think he should have for last season. He will be a long time Eagle.

2006 - 14th overall, Brodrick Bunkley, Florida State - The other part of the anchor for the Eagles defensive line. He is always giving a good push especially on run plays. He will probably make a probowl or two sometime in his future and another long time Eagle.

2007 - Traded away pick to Dallas Cowboys. Picked up Kevin Kolb, Houston as 36th overall pick in Second round.

2008 - Traded away pick to Carolina Panthers. Picked up Trever Laws, Notre Dame as 47th overall pick in second round and Deshaun Jackson, Cal as 49th overall pick in second round.

2009 - Yet, to be determined. Some people say it's going to be Knowshon Moreno or Bernie Wells. Some think it might be Pettigrew. I personally hope it's Hicks or Harvin that get's drafted or even Heyward - Bey. They might even trade it away following last two years history but I doubt it.

Well let's see who the do draft tonight at like 7:30 the pick should be made knowing how slow the draft usually goes and it's starting late this year at 4:00 p.m. est.

Norris Trophy Finalists

Zdeno Chara from Boston, Mike Green from Washington, and Nicklas Lidstrom from Detroit. These are all really good defensemen and all are valuable to their teams. Lets take a look at each of these players individual and see who is most deserving of the Norris trophy.

Zdeno Chara, the anchor of the Bruins defense and also the teams captain. He had 19 goals, 31 assists, for 50 points and a +/- of +23. He only had 95 penalty minutes in 80 games this season. He definitely has found his place in Boston.

Mike Green is the anchor of the Capitols defense. He had 31 goals, 42 assists, and 73 points and +/- and +24 on the season. He only had 68 penalty minutes in 68 games this season. That is a lot of production from only 68 games, that's slightly more then 1 point per game. That's great to have a offensive defensemen and with a +24 on the season that's not bad either.

Nicklas Lidstrom is the anchor of the Red Wings defense and also the teams captain. He had 16 goals, 43 assists, for 59 points and +/- of +31. In 78 games only had 30 penalty minutes this season. That's a lot of control for a players, that's why he is the leader of the team and the anchor of the defense.

I think that Lidstrom should get the Norris trophy just because all he does for Detroit. I can see arguments for the other two players also. Lidstrom though had the best +/- of the three and the smartest play with only 30 pim in a whole season. Since 2000 he's won the Norris trophy 6 times with only 1 other person beating him. Scott Niedermayer in 2003 the year before the lockout was the only person to beat him.

NHL Rookie of the Year

It's going to between 3 players this season. Bobby Ryan from Anahiem, Steve Mason from Columbus, and Kris Versteeg from Chicago. Let's take a look at who is worthy of the Rookie of the Year.

Bobby Ryan from Anahiem first. Ryan is a right wing and plays on the second line as a rookie. He had 31 goals, 26 assists, and 57 points with a +/- of +13 this season. That's a good start for a rookie especially on a second line. He'll work out well for the Ducks.

Steve Mason from Columbus. Mason was the leader in the NHL in shutouts with 10. That's a good start for a rookie goaltender. He had a record of 33-20-7 and a G.A.A. of 2.29 that's the second best in the league. He helped carry Columbus to their frist ever playoffs apperance.

Kris Versteeg from Chicago. Versteeg is a left wing and plays on the second line as a rookie. He had 22 goals, 31 assists, and 53 points with a +/- and +15 this season. That's a great rookie season for any player. He should probably end up playing on the first line if he keeps up this production.

I think Steve Mason will end up taking this trophy. He had the most impact on his team by being the first goalie to take columbus into the playoffs. He also led the NHL in the shutouts. I'll truely be surprised if anyone ends up getting it besides him.

NHL Playoffs

Well we are well into the first round of the playoffs right now and lets see how my guessing has been working out for me. I bolded the teams I picked to win and I'll give an evaulation of my picks and who is poised to win now.

East
Boston vs Montreal
I said Boston would win in 5 games, they bested me by winning in 4 games.

Washingtonvs New York Rangers
Washington is down 3-1 in their series. I wouldn't say that their next game will be their last just because of Ovechkin. Though Theodore is a weak link in Washington for sure.

New Jersey vs Carolina
I picked this too be a 6 or 7 game series and the series is tied 2 games a piece after 4 games. I think still think Carolina will win this series.

Philadelphia vs Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is up 3-1 in this series that I picked to go 6 games. I still think it will be 6 games. Philadelphia might be able to push it to 7 games if so Pittsburgh might want to watch out.

West
San Jose vs. Anaheim
Anaheim is up 2-1 on San Jose. The Sharks are doing the same thing they do every season come playoff time it seems choking. I thought this might be their year too.

Detroit vs Columbus
Detroit is up 3-0 in the series. I think tonight will be Columbus last playoff game this season.

Vancouver vs St. Louis
Vancouver took the series in 4 games like I said they would.

Chicago vs Calgary
I said this would be a 7 game series and right now the series is tied 2-2. I said it would be tough with these evenly matched teams and so far it's proved true. I'm still taking Calgary.

So I'm not doing to bad on the first round. I got 3 going against me right now. Let's see how the first round finishes.

NBA Playoffs

This has been one of the better years in the NBA than previous. Their isn't just two really great teams that will be able to power their way through the playoffs in 4 and 5 game series. I think this year will be a lot of 6 and 7 game series. I can't wait to see tip of tomorrow, but until then let's try to guess who'll get out the first round.

East
Boston vs Chicago
-while I want to give Chicago a chance because Garnette will be out of at least the first few games, if not all of playoffs. I think Boston takes this in 6 games.

Cleveland vs Detroit
-Cleveland is a much better team then Detroit all over the floor. Cleveland takes this in 5 games.

Orlando vs Philadelphia
If Philadelphia finally got over they way they been playing recently. This could end up being one of the best series. Because besides Dwight Howard the Sixers can hang with the rest of the Magic. I'm still giving it to the Magic though in 6 games.

Atlanta vs Miami
This is a really good match up all over the court. Though I think that Miami will end up being too much with DWade and they'll take the series in 5 games.

West
L.A. Lakers vs Utah
-This seems to be a good match up for the Lakers in the first round. I think the Lakers will win this in a tough 5 game series.

Denver vs New Orleans
-This is a really interesting match up. Carmello Anthony who everyone used to talk about but isn't talked about much anymore. Up against the young stud at point guard in Chris Paul. I'm taking the Hornets in a 6 game series.

Dallas vs San Antonio
San Antonio will be too much for Dallas and the series will end in 5 games.

Portland vs Huston
This is my favorite match up of the playoffs. Mostly because I have no idea who will win this series both teams are really streaky. I think that Portland will end up winning in 7 games though.

NHL Teams Give Long Contracts

Johan Franzen is the next on the list of players who got big contracts in the last few years. He got an 11 year contract for 43.5 million. Rick Dipetro signed a contract for 13 years a few years ago for the New York Islanders. He has been hurt a lot since he got that big contract. Vincent Lecavalier signed a big contract also this year at 11 years for the Tampa Bay Lightning. Mike Richards also got a long contract from the Flyers this year. Richards was the youngest player out of this list to get that long term contract but still Lecavalier, Franzen, and if Dipetro could be stay healthy they are all big time helpers and leaders of their teams.

AHL is the Second Best Sports League in America

This league is ignored and that's fine because how many times do you here people talking about AA/AAA baseball teams. The difference between minor league professional baseball and hockey is that hockey is much better growing system. There is a few players who are AHL career players, but in reality if you have what it takes you can get moved up much easier then baseball. Plus the actual talent level in the AHL is much better overall then minors in baseball. I know that most of the AHL teams are located in North East region of America, but they shouldn't get ignored. I mean there are plenty of NHL players that get dropped down to the AHL for awhile look at Satan this year finished the season with the WB/S Penguins and Downie finished his season in Norfolk for Tampa. I'm really not trying to bash minor league baseball, I'm just trying to let everyone know there is league called the AHL in American and Canada. That is extremely affordable for families to go to and is great fun to go to anytime. I highly recommend next season going to your local rink and watch an AHL game. Take a few friends you'll be amazed at the affordability of the games, and the small stadium make you feel closer to the action.

NHL Playoff Predictions

Alright now that the playoffs are starting on Wednesday. I think it's a good time to do my predictions on what will happen in the first round between teams. I'm gonna pick the winners and how many games they'll go.

East
Boston vs Montreal
This series will be bringing back and age old rivalry between two original six teams. The series will go 5 games Montreal will steal one in Montreal, but Carey Price's Canadiens won't be able to carry them over Tim Thomas's Bruins.

Washington vs New York Rangers
This series should be tough with the goaltending of this series and the offense power the two teams have. I think it will be a series of 6, unless Alexnader Ovechkin takes his MVP stats of this regular season. He could make the series end in 4 by himself.

New Jersey vs Carolina
This will be a 6 game series possibility of 7 games. Carolina is gonna take the series though even without having home ice advantage. Marty Brodeur might actually be a sore spot for Devils.

Philadelphia vs Pittsburgh
This will probably be a 6 games series. I want to take my Flyers winning the series, so I will. Though Pittsburgh can easily take it like they did last year in the Eastern Conference finals.

West
San Jose vs. Anaheim
This game will go 5 and Sharks will take it. Though Anaheim will give them a tough time in those 5. Nabokov will be too strong in goal for Anaheim will take it.

Detroit vs Columbus
4 games, Detroit runs over Columbus. Detroit is much too strong for Columbus.

Vancouver vs St. Louis
5 games if St. Louis gets one in Vancouver. If not definitely a 4 game series the Canucks will be too tough for Blues.

Chicago vs Calgary
7 game series between these two teams. The teams are evenly matched, besides in goaltending match up of Kiprusoff vs Huet/Khabibulin. Kiprusoff is a stud in net and should get the Vezina this year.

To Tampa He Will Go

Quarterback Byron Leftwich has just confirmed via text message to ESPN that he will be playing next year in Tampa Bay for the Buccaneers, and he is expected to compete for the starting role under center. Leftwich joins quarterbacks Luke McCown, Josh Johnson and Brian Griese on the Buc's roster. One of those three quarterbacks are expected to be released by the end of the week.

Leftwich should be a good fit in Tampa Bay where veteran help is needed after the Bucs released quarterback Jeff Garcia earlier this month.

Fightin' Phils Battle Back

The Rox roughed up Phillies starter Chan Ho Park the first few innings, jumping out to a 5-1 lead. Dexter Fowler's big fly was the last run the Rox would score, thanks to a shut-down performance from the Phillies bullpen. The Phils chipped away at the Rockies lead during the middle innings, and then Second baseman Chase F. Utley tied the game with a two run shot in the eight inning. Ryan "Maddawg" Madson worked a scoreless eight, and Matt Stairs broke the five all tie with a two run homer, his first of the year. Brad Lidge hurled a scoreless ninth to save it for the Phillies.

Win - Ryan Madson
Loss - Huston Street
Save - Brad Lidge

Hockey Playoff Push

Well the NHL season ends on Sunday. That means a lot of teams can make or break their hopes of playoffs with remaining games on their schedules. Let's take a look at who can fall out of that playoff spot they are currently sitting in.

East
All spots are accounted for in the East playoff picture looks like this
-Bruins - First in the East at 114 points, and two games left
-Capitals - Solid second in the East at 108 points right now, one game left
-Devils - Solid third in the East at 104 points right now, one game left
-Flyers - tied with Canes and Pens at 97 points, two games left
-Hurricanes - tied with Flyers and Pens at 97 points, one game left
-Penguins - tied with Canes and Flyers at 97 points, one game left
-Rangers - tied with the Habs at 93 points, with one game left
-Canadiens - tied with the Rangers at 93 points, with one game left

West
West looks like this right now, all these teams are fighting for the 7th and 8th spot in the west.
-Ducks - has two games left, sitting at 88 points
-Blues - has two games left, sitting at 88 points
-Predators - has two games left, sitting at 88 points
-Wild - has two games left, sitting at 85 points. It's a long shot but it's not mathematically impossible. Only two of those three teams sitting at 88 have to lose both games and the Wild win their two and they could be the eight seed.

West Playoff picture, minus 7th and 8th seed
-Sharks - First in the West at 117 points, one game left
-Red Wings - Second in the West at 112 points, two games left
-Canucks - Third in the West at 98 points, one game left
-Blackhawks - Fourth in the West at 100 points, two games left
-Flames - Fifth in the West at 96 points, two games left
-Blue Jackets - Sixth in the West at 92 points, two games left

Playoffs start next Wednesday the 15 of April. I'm looking forward to another fine year of playoff hockey.

Who Says Goals come at a Premium?

Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs scored between the two teams 13 goals in a single game, Flyers won the game 8-5 though. That's one high scoring game and it's the first game the Flyers won this week. After losing to Boston Bruins last sunday and Toronto on Wednesday. The Flyers where in the need of some points to try to keep ahead of the pesky Penguins and surging Hurricanes. Flyers play Ottawa tonight and Toronto heads to home to welcome Montreal. With all the teams in the NHL either having 4 or 5 games remaining this should make for an exciting finish to a great NHL season and great push for playoffs by all teams.
