No. 1 No More.

Hartford, Connecticut - For the first time ever in school history, Pitt beat a number one team. With the top rank in the Big East on the line Pitt showed up and was ready to play, defeating UConn 76-68.

The key to the win I believe was Pittsburgh really spread the ball around. Four of their five starters scored in the double digits. Forward Sam Young led players with 25 points, and Forward DeJuan Blair added another 22 and 23 rebounds becoming only the third player ever to score 20 points and grab 20 boards against a number one ranked team.

Pitt held UConn's all star center Hasheem Thabeet to only five points and six rebounds.
