Today at 4:00 P.M. the time to choose a franchise tag officially ended. These players all were tagged today.
As a follow up to my earlier story on Julius Peppers, Peppers has been franchise tagged by the Carolina Panthers.
Seattle Seahawks also put the tag on veteran linebacker Leroy Hill, hoping to lock up Hill with a hefty contract at a later date.
The Tennessee Titans also put their own tag on tight end Bo Scaife, who in 2008 led the team with 58 receptions.
For the first time in team history, the Houston Texans slapped a franchise tag on a player. They used their first tag on corner back Dunta Robinson.
Pittsburgh Steelers tag offensive tackle Max Starks, but they do not guarantee him a starting job.
