Defending Eastern Conference Champions, Pittsburgh Penguins fire head coach Michel Therrien today following a 6-2 loss to the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs, a game in which the Pens were leading 2-1 heading into the third period. The Pens find themselves 27-25-5 and five points out of the final seed for the playoffs. Firing the coach was an act to try and shake things up a bit. Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma was named interim head coach. Bylsma has lead the AHL affiliate to the Pens to a 35-16-2-1 record this year, and the Baby Pens are currently on an eight game winning streak. Will the move payoff and get the Pens back into the playoff hunt?
