T-Mac... Out

Houston Rockets star forward Tracy McGrady will have season ending surgery on his left knee. McGrady said today (Wednesday) that the pain in his left knee was just too much to bare. He's confident that he'll be back and in full force next year.

"It has been extremely frustrating dealing with the knee injury this season. It's been tough on me both physically and mentally and while we've come to this conclusion after much deliberation, we truly feel this is best for both me and the Rockets in the long term," said McGrady.

McGrady has missed eighteen games this season because of his sore knee. McGrady said before he had surgery he wanted to consult physicians about his knee after the All Star game. It was reported that yesterday (Tuesday) McGrady saw two different doctors and today (Wednesday) he had another out-of-state appointment scheduled.

"We've tried just playing through it, taking back-to-backs off, and extended periods of rest," McGrady wrote. "But none of it has really been effective in limiting the discomfort and allowing me to just go out there and play."
