Welcome Home Mr. Griffey.

After having a personal debate with him self, former Chicago White Sox right fielder Ken Griffey Jf. will be returning to the Seattle Mariners going back to where he all started as a 19 year old phenom in 1989. Griffey agreed to a one year $2 Million contract that has many incentives.

Griffey, who's home is in Orlando Florida was actually looking forward to playing for the Atlanta Braves because it's closer to his home. The Braves also have spring training right in Orlando Florida.

Griffey told sources that he has had an "agonizing" 24 hours debating between going to Atlanta and back to Seattle, but the nostalgic lure of going back to where it all started was too much for him.

Griffey who played with the Mariners from 1989-2000 made the All Star game each year of the 1990's and also won Gold Gloves in each of those years.

Griffey will spend time in left field where Endy Chavez is currently the starter, but he will also be used as a designated hitter at times.

The fact that Griffey signed a one year contract with his first team where he was most productive may mean that he's thinking of hanging up his cleats after this season is over. I guess us in the sports world will have to wait and find out.
